Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the organization’s financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective financial control. The role involves supervising accounting functions, preparing financial statements, monitoring budgets, and supporting management in financial decision-making. The Senior Accountant plays a key role in maintaining the financial integrity and transparency of the organization.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting and Accounting
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records and reports.
• Maintain general ledger and ensure proper accounting entries.
2. Budgeting and Financial Planning
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor budget performance and report variances.
• Provide financial analysis to support strategic decisions.
3. Accounts Management
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Ensure timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
4. Compliance and Audit
• Ensure compliance with local tax laws, accounting standards, and company policies.
• Coordinate internal and external audits.
• Prepare audit schedules and required documentation.
5. Financial Control and Risk Management
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation measures.
• Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping practices.
6. Payroll and Tax Management
• Oversee payroll processing and ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure timely submission of tax returns and statutory payments.
• Stay updated on tax regulations and compliance requirements.
7. Leadership and Team Support
• Supervise and support junior accounting staff.
• Provide guidance, training, and performance evaluation.
• Promote efficiency and continuous improvement within the finance team.
About You
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting is an advantage.
Experience
• 7–10 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance.
• At least 3 years in a senior or supervisory accounting role.
• Experience in construction, logistics, or infrastructure sectors is an advantage.
