Position Summary

The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial management, planning, reporting, and control functions of the organization. The role ensures effective financial governance, compliance with regulatory and organizational policies, and supports strategic decision-making through accurate financial analysis and reporting. The Finance Manager will lead the finance team, manage budgeting and forecasting processes, and ensure efficient utilization of financial resources.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

1. Financial Management & Planning

Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.

·         Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.

·         Monitor financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement.

·         Ensure efficient allocation and utilization of financial resources.

2. Financial Reporting & Analysis

·         Prepare and present timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

·         Conduct financial analysis to support strategic and operational decisions.

·          Monitor cash flow, expenditures, and revenue streams.

·         Provide financial insights and risk assessments to senior management.

3. Accounting & Compliance

·         Ensure accurate maintenance of accounting records and financial transactions.

·         Ensure compliance with national regulations, tax laws, and organizational policies.

·         Coordinate internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations.

·          Maintain strong internal controls and financial governance systems.

4. Budgeting & Cost Control

·         Oversee budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis.

·         Implement cost control measures to enhance financial efficiency.

·         Ensure proper financial planning and expenditure tracking across departments.

·         Provide guidance on the financial implications of operational decisions.

 

5. Treasury & Cash Flow Management

·         Manage cash flow planning, liquidity, and banking relationships.

·         Ensure timely payment of obligations, including suppliers and staff.

·         Monitor financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.

6. Leadership & Team Management

·         Lead and supervise finance and accounting staff.

·          Provide training, mentorship, and performance management.

·         Promote accountability, integrity, and teamwork within the finance department.

About You

Education:

• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience:

·         Minimum of twenty (20) years of progressive experience in finance or accounting.

·         Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, and reporting at a senior level.

·         Experience working in large organizations, NGOs, or corporate environments is preferred.
