Regional Prospectivity

Western Ethiopia is underlain by the Precambrian Arabian–Nubian Shield, a globally recognized gold-hosting terrane that supports multiple world-class orogenic gold systems across Northeast Africa. This region is characterized by well-preserved volcanic–sedimentary greenstone belts, granitoid intrusions, and regionally extensive shear zones that provide the primary structural controls for gold mineralization. The Western Greenstone Belt of Ethiopia is one of the country’s most gold-endowed terrains and has demonstrated its capacity to host multi-million-ounce deposits, including the Dish Mountain–Ashashire (Kurmuk) gold system, the MIDROC Jilaye deposit, and the Tulu Kapi gold project.

GSG Mining PLC’s exploration licenses and projects are strategically located within this highly prospective Western Greenstone Belt, occupying comparable litho-structural and deformation settings to these established deposits. The presence of favorable host lithologies, major shear zones, and evidence of gold mineralization significantly enhances the exploration potential of GSG’s license areas, positioning the company for high-impact discoveries and long-term resource growth.

Dima Placer Mine

Bandira Kebele, Dima Woreda, Agniwak Zone, Gambela Region, Ethiopia

Scope of Work:

  • Small scale gold mining on approximately 9 hectares
  • Bulk sampling and alluvial deposit assessment programs
  • Deployment and operation of heavy equipment and ore processing plants
  • o Washing and recovery of placer gold with full compliance to National Bank of Ethiopia regulations

Dima Placer Mine

Operational since establishment; second washing plant inaugurated December 2025

Achievements / Specialties Completed:

  • Successful operation of first washing plant with average production of 2 kg gold per month
  • Commissioned second washing plant in December 2025
  • Cumulative gold production exceeding 15 kg to date
  • Established strong operational practices in alluvial extraction and ore processing

Gambela Exploration Project

 Agniwak Zone, Dima Woreda

Scope of Work:

  • Early‑stage large‑scale exploration for gold and base metals
  • Geological reconnaissance, mapping and systematic sampling
  • Alluvial and primary deposit target definition across extensive license areas
  • Drilling target generation, Geological modelling, Resource estimation and mine development

Achivements

  •  Secured two active large scale exploration licenses in a region with proven gold endowment
  • Established groundwork for early exploration and about to commence

Achievements / Specialties Completed:

  • Successful operation of first washing plant with average production of 2 kg gold per month
  • Commissioned second washing plant in December 2025
  • Cumulative gold production exceeding 15 kg to date
  • Established strong operational practices in alluvial extraction and ore processing

Regional and Geological Context:

  •  Located within the Western Greenstone Belt of Ethiopia, part of the Arabian–Nubian Shield, an area highly prospective for orogenic gold systems hosted in major shear structures and volcano sedimentary belts.

  • Geological similarities also extend to other major deposits such as the Segale gold deposit, an orogenic gold system in the Western Ethiopian Shield.

Asosa Exploration Project

Benishangul Gumuz, Asosa Zone, Ura, Homosha and Abrahamo Woreda

Scope of Work:

  • Early‑stage large‑scale exploration for gold and base metals
  • Geological reconnaissance, mapping and systematic sampling
  • Alluvial and primary deposit target definition across extensive license areas
  • Drilling target generation, Geological modelling, Resource estimation and mine development

Achivements

  •  Secured two active large scale exploration licenses in a region with proven gold endowment
  • Established groundwork for early exploration and about to commence

Achievements / Specialties Completed:

  • Acquisition and commencement of exploration under an active large scale license in a highly prospective geological terrain
  • Completed initial assessments characterizing rock types, structure and alteration patterns indicative of gold mineralization
  • Cumulative gold production exceeding 15 kg to date
  • Established strong operational practices in alluvial extraction and ore processing

Regional and Geological Context:

  • Situated within the Western Greenstone Belt of Ethiopia (Arabian–Nubian Shield), a region with proven orogenic gold mineral systems and significant recent discoveries.
  • The broad structural environment is favorable for shear hosted gold deposits akin to those at Dish Mountain–Ashashire, which demonstrate the economic potential of the belt.
