Position Summary

The Site Engineer is responsible for supervising and managing day-to-day construction activities on site, ensuring that work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules. The role involves coordinating with project managers, consultants, subcontractors, and other site staff to ensure quality, safety, and timely project delivery. The Site Engineer plays a key role in monitoring site progress, resolving technical issues, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards and company procedures.

 Major Duties & Responsibilities

1. Site Supervision & Execution

  • Supervise daily construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
  • Ensure all work is carried out according to approved drawings, method statements, and project requirements.
  • Monitor site activities and provide technical guidance to foremen and labor teams.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during construction.

 2. Project Coordination

  • Coordinate with project managers, consultants, subcontractors, and other stakeholders on site.
  • Ensure smooth communication between site and project management teams.
  • Participate in site meetings and provide updates on project progress.
  • Implement instructions received from consultants and project management.

3. Planning & Progress Monitoring

  • Monitor project schedules and ensure activities are completed within planned timelines.
  • Track daily, weekly, and monthly progress and report any delays or risks.
  • Assist in short-term planning and resource allocation on site.
  • Prepare daily and weekly progress reports.

 4. Quantity & Material Management

  • Prepare and verify quantity take-offs for site works.
  • Monitor material usage and ensure efficient utilization.
  • Coordinate material delivery and ensure availability for ongoing activities.
  • Assist in preparing cost estimates and tracking site-related expenses.

5. Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure all construction activities comply with engineering standards, specifications, and company procedures.
  • Conduct site inspections and ensure quality control measures are implemented.
  • Maintain proper records of inspections, tests, and approvals.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote safe working practices on site.

6. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, reports, and site instructions.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings and ensure correct implementation on site.
  • Prepare reports on site activities, progress, and technical issues.
  • Assist in documenting variations and change orders.

About You

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional engineering certification is an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience in construction or civil engineering projects.
  • Strong experience in site supervision and project execution required.
