Position Summary
The Senior Surveyor is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing land and construction surveying activities to ensure accuracy in measurements, site layouts, and project implementation. The role involves managing survey teams, coordinating with engineers and project managers, ensuring compliance with technical standards, and delivering precise data required for construction and infrastructure development.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
1. Survey Management
· Plan, supervise, and coordinate all site surveying activities.
· Conduct topographic, boundary, and construction surveys as required.
· Ensure accurate setting out of structures based on approved drawings.
· Monitor survey progress to meet project timelines.
· Coordinate with engineers and contractors to support project execution.
2. Technical Supervision
· Review project drawings, plans, and specifications before survey execution.
· Provide technical guidance to survey teams and site staff.
· Ensure accuracy of survey data and field measurements.
· Identify and resolve technical challenges related to surveying work.
3. Quality Assurance & Compliance
· Ensure survey activities meet required quality and accuracy standards.
· Maintain proper documentation, survey reports, and field records.
· Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and professional standards.
· Conduct regular verification checks on survey equipment and data.
4. Project Coordination
· Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and consultants.
· Support project planning through accurate survey data and analysis.
· Monitor survey schedules and resource allocation.
· Report progress, risks, and technical issues to management.
5. Health & Safety Management
· Implement and enforce workplace health and safety standards.
· Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment by survey teams.
· Conduct risk assessments before survey operations.
· Promote safe working practices in all survey activities.
6. Leadership & Team Development
· Supervise surveyors, technicians, and field assistants.
· Provide mentorship and technical training to junior staff.
· Promote teamwork, discipline, and professional performance.
About You
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
Experience:
Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in surveying for construction, infrastructure, or civil engineering projects.
Required Skills
· Strong technical knowledge of surveying methods and equipment.
· Proficiency in survey software and data processing tools.
· Effective communication and coordination skills.
· Team supervision and leadership capability.
