Position Summary
GS Group is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to join our team in Juba. The Procurement Officer will be responsible for coordinating procurement activities, sourcing goods and services, managing suppliers, obtaining competitive quotations, and ensuring that all purchases are made in a timely, cost-effective, transparent, and compliant manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate procurement activities based on departmental and operational requirements.
- Source and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, reliability, delivery time, and company requirements.
- Obtain and compare quotations and prepare procurement recommendations.
- Prepare purchase requests, purchase orders, quotation comparisons, and other procurement documents.
- Conduct competitive bidding and tender processes where required.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial conditions with suppliers.
- Maintain and regularly update the approved supplier/vendor database.
- Monitor supplier performance and follow up on pending deliveries and outstanding orders.
- Coordinate with Finance, Operations, Stores, Logistics, and other departments to ensure timely procurement.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and approval requirements.
- Maintain complete and accurate procurement records for audit and reference purposes.
- Monitor market prices and identify opportunities for cost reduction and value-for-money procurement.
- Use Odoo ERP and other relevant systems for procurement transactions, approvals, purchase orders, and reporting.
- Prepare regular procurement reports and provide updates on pending, completed, and ongoing procurement activities.
- Support contract and supplier management activities.
- Perform other procurement-related duties assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably in construction, mining, logistics, manufacturing, or a similar environment.
