Position Summary

The Office Engineer is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, documentation, and technical management of construction projects from the project office. The role ensures proper documentation control, preparation of technical reports, coordination between site teams and project management, and monitoring project progress to ensure compliance with design specifications, schedules, and quality standards. The Office Engineer works closely with project managers, site engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure smooth project implementation.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

1.      Project Documentation & Technical Support

·         Prepare, review, and maintain project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and technical reports.

·         Manage document control processes, including submission, tracking, and filing of project documents.

·         Review engineering drawings and coordinate revisions with the design team.

·         Assist in preparing technical submittals, method statements, and project reports.

2.      Project Coordination

·         Coordinate between the project office, site engineers, consultants, and contractors.

·         Monitor project schedules and track progress against project timelines.

·         Assist in organizing project meetings and preparing meeting minutes.

·         Support communication between different project stakeholders to ensure project alignment.

3.      Planning & Reporting

·         Assist in project planning and scheduling activities.

·         Prepare progress reports, performance updates, and project documentation.

·         Track project milestones and identify potential delays or issues.

·         Provide analytical support for project monitoring and decision-making.

4.      Quantity & Cost Monitoring

·         Assist in preparation of quantity take-offs and cost estimates.

·         Monitor material usage and project costs in coordination with the project management team.

·         Support preparation of project budgets and cost reports.

·         Assist with contract documentation and variation orders.

5.      Quality Assurance & Compliance

·         Ensure documentation and project activities comply with engineering standards and company procedures.

·         Support quality control processes by reviewing inspection reports and technical documentation.

·         Ensure proper record keeping of all project-related documents and approvals.

6.      Coordination with Site Teams

·         Provide technical support to site engineers and construction teams.

·         Ensure accurate communication of design changes and project instructions to the site team.

·         Monitor site progress through reports and coordinate corrective actions where necessary.

About You

Education:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.

Professional engineering certification is an advantage.

Experience:

·         Minimum of eight years of relevant experience in construction or civil engineering projects. Experience in site supervision and project implementation required.
